Seeking Jesus

You should know that...

1.    Jesus loves you.  The Bible says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should  not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). The problem is that...

2.    We have all sinned.  We have done things that displease God. The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) The problem is worse because...

3.    The penalty for sin is separation from God forever. The Bible says "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23a). Worse than that is that we...

4.    Cannot personally do anything about this problem. The Bible says "this is not your own doing; (Ephesians 2:8b) But there is good news.  The good news is that...

5.    God sent His only Son Jesus to pay the price for our sins. The Bible says "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Jesus can do this because He is sinless.  He was the only one qualified to pay our sin penalty.  The payment was Jesus' death on the cross for us.  But if Jesus' death ended His life, it wouldn't do any good for us.  Jesus was buried and three days later He rose from the dead.  His death, burial and resurrection is an act of God's grace.  The Bible says "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8) Jesus paid the penalty for us, but how do we claim that payment for ourselves?

6.    We must accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus purchased for us.  The Bible says we "are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24) Our only possibility to heaven is through Jesus.  Jesus said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) God has provided His Son as our payment for sin and wants us to be His child.  The Bible says "in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith." (Galatians 3:26)

7.    Do you want to accept Jesus as your Savior and turn from your sins? You can surrender your life to Jesus and ask Him to be your Savior by praying and asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and asking Him to be your Savior.  If you have done this, please email Cornerstone@cornerstonebible.us and tell us what you have done.  We have some free information for you.
