Three families began meeting in the fall of 1990 in a home in Berwick with the goal of starting a new church. We felt there were many people in our area who didn’t feel they fit in at any church and were longing for a “family” to be a part of. On December 9, 1990, we began Cornerstone in a storefront on Mulberry Street with 6 adults and 8 young people and very little funds. For five years, we met there until in 1995 we grew out of that location and began renting the Mulberry Street Elementary School gym and using if for Sunday morning services. In November 1998, Cornerstone purchased a facility located in Summerhill and over the next 10 weeks renovated the former carpenter shop into the “Carpenter’s” shop. We met at that location until November 2004, when the Lord provided our current facility in Nescopeck Township.
